Summer is coming soon.. I personally can not wait!!!
There are benefits from the sun, however there are time when the sun is more dangerous than others… After 10 am to 3 pm. During these times, I would shield my skin from the intense rays because burning can cause serious damage and contribute to skin cancer
But during off hours, the sun is less likely to cause burning and damage. This is important because there are many health benefits from sun exposure.
The UV light enters through the retina and stimulates the pineal gland. This often can also help the hypothalamus release endorphins which give you the feeling of well being.
The lack of this sun exposure is believed to be why people suffer SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), the lack of UV stimulation.
People often wear sunglasses, and in doing so robs the retina of the suns influence and negates its benefits. Whenever safely done, I would avoid sunglasses.
The sun also causes a chemical change to the pro D vitamin that lies under the skin. The sun converts that precursor nutrient into Vitamin D 3 which is extremely important to our health, as research is starting to reveal.
So although it is unwise to sauté and simmer in the hot noon rays the sun has many benefits and if exposed to wisely it can help your over all health and feeling of well being.
